Leyla Farah
Leyla is the founder and owner of Cause+Effect Public Relations, Inc. Prior to founding Cause+Effect, she served as the Vice President of Programming and Production for PlanetOut Inc., where she oversaw the daily publication of both news and feature stories for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender audiences around the world. Leyla also worked as an Account Executive with Stone Yamashita Partners, where she oversaw corporate strategy, branding and communications initiatives for Fortune 500 clients from Istanbul to Anaheim.
Leyla holds a JD from Boalt Hall School of Law at UC Berkeley, and a BA from the Robert D. Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon. She has served on the national Board of Governors for the Human Rights Campaign, and now volunteers her time with both the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Historical Society and openhouse.
Rebecca Heaps
Rebecca is the Managing Partner of Cause+Effect Public Relations, Inc. With her strong background in event management, she also serves as our client event specialist. Rebecca has worked on accounts including grassroots nonprofits, pioneering online businesses, and sassy comediennes.
Rebecca has also spent the last decade as an image consultant, creating looks for hundreds of clients. She has photo styled numerous covers and fashion spreads for Curve Magazine, On Our Backs and Girlfriends Magazine. Rebecca has an uncanny ability to combine specialty trends and classic pieces to create a unique look for each of her clients – creating a well-conceived wardrobe that expresses each client’s individual, unique personality. Rebecca’s knack for using fashion as a vehicle for self-expression, allows her to help her clients create an image uniquely suited to their lifestyle and personality.
Rebecca has served on the national Board of Governors for the Human Rights Campaign, and has volunteered her time with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the Whatcom Humane Society, the AIDS Walk, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and many other great causes.
