Civil services examination notification has now been released by the Apex organization UPSC (Union public service commission) for the recruitment of civil servants (bureaucrats) and other Group A officers in the central government. There is a total 1291 posts this time. This examination is conducted by UPSC each year and a huge number of applicants apply.

Candidates applying for the above post must hold a bachelor degree from a recognized university set up under UGC.

Age requirement:

Applicant’s age must not be less than 21 years and must not be more than 32 years as on august 1, 2014. SC/ST candidates will be given an exemption of 5 years and OBC of 3 years. PH candidates will be allowed 10 years of exemption.

UPSC Civil Services Application fee:

General and OBC category aspirants need to pay a a fee of Rs 100 which is payable through online/ offline mode. To pay the fee in offline mode, generate the challan after completing part I of the registration process and submit it in any branch of State Bank of India. Online payment can be done through credit card/ debit card/ net banking using State bank of India and its associate banks.

The candidates need to pass the civil services preliminary examination and then civil services main examination followed by the interview.
