Worth a Thousand Words

Red hot campaign NO H8 is the creation of Adam Bouska and Jeff Parshley, and a powerful visual reminder of how California’s Proposition 8 silenced LGBT voices. This photographic protest is a moving response to the 2008 passage of Proposition 8, a state ballot measure banning same-sex marriage in California. Now a world wide phenomenon, hundreds of people from across the country – including celebrities like Kathy Griffin, Isaiah Washington, Adam Lambert and many others – have participated in the campaign, posing for a photograph with the letters NO H8 painted on their faces and duct tape covering their mouths. Thousands of photographs from around the world have also been submitted to the campaign – showing global solidarity against the idea of inequality.+Find out more
