Skyler Cooper

Skyler Cooper is one of the most dynamic emerging talents in Hollywood. She has been described as a striking actor, an incredible presence, and a captivating talent. In her first lead role as Shakespeare’s Othello, she wowed Bay area audiences with her command of the stage, and stunned critics with her command of her craft. Since then, she’s continue to receive critical acclaim on stage, and on screen.
Skyler’s years of training in both classical and contemporary theater landed her a position with the bay area California Shakespeare company and performed in their summer productions of A Comedy Of Errors, Henry IV, and The Importance Of Being Ernest. She worked on Argonautika with Berkeley Rep, 3 Seconds In The Key with SF Playhouse, and Walking The Dead with Theater Q. Since then, Skyler has been cast in a principle role for the pilots for the television series Don’t Go and Cocktails, as well as the short film Insomniacs.
Her power physique comes from several years of competitive bodybuilding. While she no longer competes, she shares her passion for fitness with others as a personal trainer when she can. Prior to her acting career, she served in the United States Navy as an Aircraft Electrician for ten years, and then as a robotic engineer in Silicon Valley. Since taking up acting, Skyler has mastered a range of roles that showcase her unique talents.

Every now and then an actor comes along and changes the face of the industry. Skyler Cooper is that change. Her unique androgynous look, paired with her uncanny ability to transform herself into her character, makes her a truly unique force in Hollywood.
Skyler’s latest project, “The Owls,” is a new lesbian noir thriller from award-winning film-maker Cheryl Dunye, about four older-wiser-lesbians who accidentally kill a young lesbian and try to get away with it. The film follows four women in long-term relationships trying to make sense of the weight of alcoholism, infidelity, infertility, aging, and murder. “The Owls” gracefully (if sometimes gruesomely) mixes the stories of its thriller characters with those of its behind-the-scene makers to create an end product that complicates easy images of contemporary lesbian identity, cross-generational interaction, and queer media.
Skyler was recently named as the 2nd hottest butch alive by Top Hot Butches, a project by Sinclair Sexsmith, celebrating the wide range of diversity of butch, masculine, and androgynous lesbians, while calling attention to some of the powerful activism, culture, and communities they are creating.
Skyler was recently cast in the reality show Hellbent For Hollywood.
