NoH8 Campaign

Adam Bouska and Jeff Parshley’s brainchild, the NO H8 Campaign, is a visual reminder of how California’s Proposition 8 silenced LGBT voices around the state, and across the country. Their silent, photographic protest in response to the passage of California’s Proposition 8, a state ballot measure banning same-sex marriage, has become a world-wide phenomenon. Hundreds of people from across the country – including celebrities like Kathy Griffen, Isiah Washington and many others – have participated in the campaign, posing for a photograph with the the letters NO H8 painted on their faces and duct tape covering their mouths. Thousands of photographs from around the world have also been submitted to the campaign – showing global solidarity against the idea of inequality.
